Home Care Preferred had an amazing time at the Firs Farm Festival last weekend! We were so pleased to be there offering free wheelchair loans for the day to festival go-ers that found it difficult to move around with ease. There were lots of fun things to do including a Zumba class by Sonja Tonge which you can see in the video above. It was a great success and we would like to thank Toni Guiver and her team for putting on such a wonderful event and for having us as part of their day. Tomorrow is Pancake Day- YAY! How will you spend your February 13th? Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent – the 40 days leading up to Easter – was traditionally a time of fasting and on Shrove Tuesday, Anglo-Saxon Christians went to confession and were “shriven” (absolved from their sins). The Home Care Preferred Office got well and truly in the festive spirit this week when we spent ‘Christmas morning’ with our work family. Festive garments were adorned, carols were played and many a mince pie and cake was consumed. The night included two bands including Riff Raff Blues Band and Mete Ege Blues. There was a range of great musicians playing and guests enjoyed some excellent blues music in an intimate local venue.
