Home Care Preferred was named as ‘Domiciliary Care Provider of the Year’ at the 2016 HealthInvestor Awards at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The prestigious black-tie award ceremony was hosted by BBC broadcaster, John Humphrys. Over 1,200 people were in attendance including leading figures from social care, clinical services and advisory finance groups. The company’s success is testament to its adept delivery of care in peoples’ homes. It provides hourly and live-in care as well as carrying out its impressive charity work in the London community. Its innovative high street shop also offers 6,000 independent living equipment products.

Ruth Winston Centre has around 1100 members and offers 60 classes and/or activities per week exclusively for the over 50s. Jean Dawson says it’s yoga, which she started aged 67, that’s helped her to reach her 100th birthday!

Jean first started yoga after seeing an advert in her local area. She credits yoga with changing her life, saying that it has “helped cure aches and pains.” Aside from easing pain, Jean also says the yoga has helped her posture, balance, concentration, flexibility and stamina. Attending regular classes also means Jean has made some great friends. According to Jean’s yoga instructor, Christine, Jean is a role model for others – proving to everyone that if she can do it, so can they.
