How Live In Care Can Help Protect Your Loved Ones from COVID-19

May 19, 2020 8:42 am

The sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by surprise and has since impacted the lives of everyone across the globe. In a bid to limit the spread, a large number of businesses, governmental organisations and independent institutions temporarily suspended their operations. While undeniably effective, these measures can do little to protect the most vulnerable portion of our population – the Elderly. Under normal circumstances, the easily accessible and affordable care homes are often seen as the number one choice for elderly citizens. Currently, however, the times are anything but normal, especially with experts from all over the world advising against large gatherings of people. Anyone with a diagnosed chronic medical condition, as well as healthy individuals over...

Happy National Doughnut Day!

June 1, 2018 3:05 pm

National Doughnut Day started in 1938 in Chicago as a tribute to The Salvation Army “Doughnut Lassies” who supported our troops on the front lines during World War I. It is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June. In 1917, The Salvation Army began a mission to provide spiritual and emotional support for U.S. soldiers fighting in France during WWI. About 250 volunteers traveled overseas and set up small huts located near the front lines where they could give soldiers clothes, supplies and, of course, baked goods. After discovering that serving baked goods would be difficult considering the conditions of the huts and the limited rations, two volunteers – Ensign Margaret Sheldon and Adjutant Helen Purviance – began frying...

Social Care Strain In The UK

May 17, 2018 4:36 pm

A report this week has come to light calling on the government to put together an advertising campaign to attract more social care workers. They say that they are struggling because of low pay & low morale. PAC chair Meg Hillier said the low regard for care work in the UK was a “source of national shame”, adding: “The sector is scraping by and without an explicit, long-term plan backed by government it could soon be on its knees. Levels of unmet needs are high and rising; short-term funding fixes are a road to nowhere and the ingrained issues that lead to high turnover in the workforce could be compounded by Brexit. We urge government to publish this year, and then...

Would you know what to do if you or a loved one needed care?

March 27, 2018 10:24 am

There is an increased need for care as we are an aging population. By 2031, 1 in 4 people will be over 65 and 66% of the population will need care by 2038. Do you know how to plan for this or will you be hot with panic when the need for care presents itself? We have many calls every day with people enquiring for care that just don’t know what to do. Generally, individuals do not know what options there are around fees, if they can receive any government help, the differences in care options or how long this takes to put into place. We will always do our best to show our potential clients what options they do...
