As Christmas approaches and the end of the year starts to loom, now is the perfect time to reflect on the fantastic things that Home Care Preferred Winchmore Hill has achieved in the year 2019! Events Here at Home Care Preferred it has always been important to us to host events. We love to give back to our team as well as our local community. Throughout this year we have raised money for charity by hosting some super fun events: Zumbathon Sonia Tonge (a close friend of Home Care Preferred) hosted a marathon dancing event with Home Care Preferred! Earlier this month The Mayor of Enfield, Christine Hamilton and MP for Enfield Southgate, Bambos Charalambous, both flexed their limbo skills for the launch of our new social media based fundraising campaign, ‘Care To Limbo’. Launched this October, with the help of local dignitaries as well as celebrity sportsmen such as British track sprinter Dwain Chambers and QPR footballers, Care To Limbo is designed to help raise awareness and funds for four chosen charities; Alzheimer’s Society, Carers UK, Crisis and Macmillan Cancer Support. A similar concept to the “ice bucket challenge”, Care To Limbo challenges people around the world to record themselves doing the limbo dance, and we have already seen people in France and Italy pick up the limbo gauntlet. ...

Home Care Preferred had an amazing time at the Firs Farm Festival last weekend! We were so pleased to be there offering free wheelchair loans for the day to festival go-ers that found it difficult to move around with ease. There were lots of fun things to do including a Zumba class by Sonja Tonge which you can see in the video above. It was a great success and we would like to thank Toni Guiver and her team for putting on such a wonderful event and for having us as part of their day. So much hard work went into this event and it really showed through with a seamless set up and such happy faces wondering...

There is an increased need for care as we are an aging population. By 2031, 1 in 4 people will be over 65 and 66% of the population will need care by 2038. Do you know how to plan for this or will you be hot with panic when the need for care presents itself? We have many calls every day with people enquiring for care that just don’t know what to do. Generally, individuals do not know what options there are around fees, if they can receive any government help, the differences in care options or how long this takes to put into place. We will always do our best to show our potential clients what options they do...

On Saturday 21st of October we were honoured to host our second fundraising event in aid of a charity close to our hearts, Alzheimer’s Research UK. The charity is making pioneering steps in devising treatments to prevent, slow down and ultimately cure dementia. Having experienced the disease in both a professional and personal setting Home Care Preferred are delighted to be able to support their work where we can. Our ‘We’ll Meet Again’ World War 2 musical was enjoyed by young and old alike – many donned their finest 1940’s inspired gear and really got into the spirit of the evening. The Compton Players were once again on fine form performing the show with passion and pizzazz. It was lovely...
