Support combined with independence

We often speak to families whose love one requires some additional help with  getting out and about and meeting new people and general social development.

Our team are there to help our client’s physical development and their emotional development too. They typically become a friend who will listen to concerns, and a companion to share interests with.

We support people with learning disabilities to live independently as part of their local community, preferably close to existing networks, family and friends.

Our support packages means clients can exercise choice and control over their life in ways that may not be possible if living in environments such as residential care.

Respite or Permanent Support

Flexibility is synonymous at Home Care Preferred.  Sometimes  a carer of someone who has a learning disabilities can find that the situation becomes overwhelming. We understand that you may need time to look after yourself, recharge your batteries.  Our respite service is ideal in this situation and a Home Care Preferred Support Assistant will be there to support your loved one, round the clock if necessary, so that you can take the time to look after yourself as well.

We recognise that this can be difficult, especially if you are a primary carer so we do our utmost to offer reassurance and adopt the routine that is tried and tested by you.

Typically clients have a regular support package with Home Care Preferred and this can be anything from a few hours a day through to full time live-in support.

We can adapt to the needs of our clients and their families and the first step is a conversation with a member of our friendly team to see the options that are available.
