How Will You Spend Your February 13th?
February 12, 2018 10:03 amTomorrow is Pancake Day- YAY! How will you spend your February 13th?
Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent – the 40 days leading up to Easter – was traditionally a time of fasting and on Shrove Tuesday, Anglo-Saxon Christians went to confession and were “shriven” (absolved from their sins).
Whether you are celebrating for Lent, keeping up with family traditions or just want an excuse to eat delicious food, it is a great opportunity to take advantage of Pancake Day to spend time with family members and all make pancakes together.
Pancake Day can be super fun and family inclusive – being the person to flip them is always a major responsibility! You can get artistic and make some animal pancakes, (or if you are feeling brave, Elvis’ head always goes down well) you can make savoury pancakes and have them for dinner or you can fill them with scrummy sweet things and do buffet style pancakes. Whatever you decide to do, don’t forget your loved ones that live alone. Take this opportunity to spread joy (and calories) to your loved ones. It may be something small to you, but it could be just the thing they need to put a smile on their face!
